OUR HISTORY
ESVAGT A/S was founded in 1981 with the objective to provide safety and support at sea. ESVAGT has developed rapidly over the last decades, with continuous improvements in products and services.
Today, ESVAGT is still a dedicated provider of safety and support at sea, founded on an experienced and well-trained offshore crew and unmatched rescue capabilities.
HIGHLIGHTS IN ESVAGT
Founded and office established at Kølen 1, Esbjerg, Denmark.
The ESVAGT BRAVO rescues 8 men from the coaster PAULINE S.
Oil spill contingency for DONG.
The ESVAGT OMEGA and the ESVAGT PROTECTOR rescue 46 men from the rig ‘West Gamma’.

A/S Em.Z. Svitzer acquires 50 percent of the shares in ESVAGT.
In-house production of ESVAGT’s Fast Rescue Boats (FRB).

The ESVAGT FRB is approved for 15 persons for use in the UK sector.
ESVAGT honoured by Maersk Oil for one year without accidents.
First ESVAGT contracts in Dutch and Norwegian sectors.
A/S Em.Z. Svitzer acquires an additional 25 percent of the shares in ESVAGT. (75%).
ESVAGT is awarded two five year contracts for ConocoPhillips in the Norwegian sector.
First activity in the offshore wind industry. Personnel transfer in the Horns Rev 1-park.


The ESVAGT ALPHA rescues 12 men from the coaster SILVA.
The ESVAGT OBSERVER operates at the sunken tanker PRESTIGE in Spanish waters.
The ESVAGT CORONA is delivered - the first C-class vessel.
The ESVAGT OMEGA rescues 15 men from the cargo ship SCHIEBORG.

ESVAGT-MAERSK UK Ltd. established.
The ESVAGT PRESERVER becomes the first ESVAGT vessel with 15 years without accidents.
The ESVAGT CARPATHIA arrives from Singapore - the first of 12 vessels commissioned at ASL Shipyard by ESVAGT.
A record four vessels added to the fleet.

More than half of ESVAGT's activities are now concentrated outside the Danish Sector.
Søren Nørgaard Thomsen becomes Managing Director; ESVAGT's third since 1981.
FRB 15C is modified, and ESVAGT invents a new transfer method for accessing WTG's in offshore wind farms.
The first long term offshore wind contract is secured.

First arctic operation. ESVAGT vessels are operating from the arctic to Egypt.
The ESVAGT PRESERVER becomes the first ESVAGT vessel with 20 years without accidents.

The ESVAGT BERGEN arrives, the first multirole vessel in the fleet.
Change of ownership: Maersk Supply acquires A/S Em.Z. Svitzers' 75 percent share of ESVAGT.

Three multirole vessels arrive; the ESVAGT STAVANGER, ESVAGT SERVER and ESVAGT AURORA. The latter is the first ESVAGT vessel build specifically for operations in the arctic areas.
ESVAGT honoured as Esbjerg’s Company of the Year.
Two new C-type vessels from ASL: ESVAGT CELESTE and ESVAGT CELINA.
ESVAGT moved into its new premises at Dokvej 4 in Esbjerg on 18 August 2014


Two new C-type vessels from ASL: ESVAGT CLAUDINE and ESVAGT CORNELIA
Fleet expanded with two purpose-built SOVs for offshore wind: ESVAGT FROUDE and ESVAGT FARADAY and two C-type vessels: ESVAGT CHASTINE and ESVAGT CANTANA

Change of ownership: 3i Infrastructure and AMP Capital aquires ESVAGT from the Maersk Group and ESE Holding.
Third SOV newbuilding ESVAGT NJORD joined the fleet.


SOV fleet expanded with ESVAGT MERCATOR.
Kristian Ole Jakobsen takes over as interim CEO.
